Quincy Mine Tours
Regularly scheduled tours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday start at 9:00, 11:15, 1:30, and 3:45. This schedule will continue until May 30th, when we will be open seven days per week. It is HIGHLY recommended to call for reservations: due to covid protocols (social distancing) we will still be limiting our group sizes. Tours outside of those days are also available on an on-demand basis, based on availability of guides and how much advance notice we have (sometimes we can do tours on the same day you call!) but there is a minimum of at least two people per tour. The Gift Shop will be open from 8:30 am until 4:30 until on Friday, Saturday and Sunday until May 30, and will then also be open seven days per week. The cogwheel tram will be in service this year, but is currently not in operation due to mechanical issues--we hope to have it running soon! Suitable shoes for walking are recommended for graveled/wet surfaces--sandals, flip-flops or other open-toe footwear is not advisable. It's 43° in the mine, and while our native-born guides find that temperature refreshing, visitors may want to bring a windbreaker or light sweatshirt.
If you have ever wanted to have a longer personal tour, to have all of your questions answered, this is your chance to experience Quincy Mine like never before! This walking tour will be an in-depth session on geology, history, technology and engineering—or any topic in which you may have a special interest! In the midst of these difficult times, we hope to transport you to an earlier era, to immerse you in the labor and industry of days past, to the role of the Copper Country in our nation’s growth.
