A collection of 11 essays on Michigan's Copper Country in the Keweenaw Peninsula, an isolated and remote region of the western Upper Peninsula. These essays represent some of the best recent scholarship on the history, industries, culture and people of this copper mining corner of the United States. This volume collects a selection of informative and inspiring papers from a two-day historical impossium held on the campus of Michigan Tecnological University - "Michigan's Copper Coutry: History, People & Place". The contributers are all Michigan Upper Peninsula authors who are experts in their fields.
