Lighting Dedication

February 9th – The Shaft House is lighted tonight for Mary Maki’s 75th Birthday.  From your loving Family.

For a small donation you can illuminate one of the Copper Country’s most iconic structures. A shaft house lighting dedication is a unique way to remember a special date or occasion or to honor someone important in our lives. Built in 1908, Quincy’s No. 2 shaft house is a monument to the industry that built our communities and the laborers that led us to where we are.  A guiding light looking out over the quiet towns of Hancock and Houghton, an illuminated shaft house is a reminder to all to pause for a moment of quiet reflection and serenity in our busy lives.

Dec. 25 –  In memory of Glenn Wiswell and Larry Williams, who left us on Christmas day, and for Jean Wiswell, who loved Christmas.
